Lovers and Liberators of Democracy for Dan Kagan & Chris Murphy!

A big shout out to Dan Kagan and Chris Murphy for their generous donation to our Seed and Spark campaign to bring 4 thousand years of LGBT history to classrooms around the world. We thank them with the statues of Aristogeiton and Harmodius, photographed by our producer, Christopher Dawes in the Museo Archeologico Nazionale di Napoli, as our director, John Scagliotti looks on.

Aristogeiton and Harmodius were two lovers from ancient Athens who, after they killed the tyrant Hipparchus, were referred to as the Tyrannicides and became the preeminent symbols of democracy to ancient Athenians.

Thank you again Dan & Chris!

A Sappho for Michael Goldburg!

A big shout out to Michael Goldburg for his generous donation! We thank him with a fresco of Sappho, photographed by our producer, Christopher Dawes.

The fresco was discovered in Pompeii in 1760 and dates from 55-79 BC. John Scagliotti, director of Before Homosexuals, points to the fresco in the Museo Archeologico Nazionale di Napoli, where the photograph was taken.

Thanks again Michael!

We’ll Take The Kramer!

Congratulations to another lucky donor, who claimed our one-of-a-kind Larry Kramer poster as their reward! Our rewards are going fast, so make a donation today and get yours before they’re all gone.

Any amount you can spare is greatly appreciated, and that appreciation can be shown with a social media shout out from Before Homosexuals with your name on a unique piece of digital art for as little as $10, so take us for all we’re worth.

Happy Birthday To Our Director!

Did you know that today is John Scagliotti’s birthday? Won’t you wish him a happy birthday with a small donation to our educational campaign, helping us to rewrite the history books by bringing 4,000 years of LGBT history into colleges and universities around the country and around the world?

We have many exciting and unique awards to choose from, many making fine holiday gifts, while sending the message that hate has no home here.

Happy Birthday John!

Launching Today: Before Homosexuals Educational Campaign – Your Help Needed To Bring LGBT History Into The Classroom!

Today is an exciting day for our film, Before Homosexuals!

In conjunction with our benefit screening in San Francisco outlined below, we are proudly launching our Seed and Spark campaign to promote the educational version of Before Homosexuals to colleges and universities around the world and hope that you can help us. Please click on the picture below to learn more about the campaign and how you can help tell your fellow Americans that hate has no place here, by making more young people aware of the positive contributions LGBT people have made to society since 2000 BC, while having the chance to acquire some unique rewards, including many one-of-a-kind works of historical relevance, so do some of your holiday shopping for your loved ones and yourself while helping a good cause!

We hope you will be joining us this afternoon at the Roxie Theater for a special benefit screening of “Before Homosexuals: From Ancient Times to Victorian Crimes.” This screening will benefit the important work done by the local GLBT Historical Society. The 32-year-old GLBT Historical Society maintains one of the largest collections of LGBTQ historical material in the world, including approximately 1,000 hours of film and video, 1,000 hours of recorded sound, and more than 500 oral histories. The society also sponsors San Francisco’s GLBT History Museum. This event will support the society’s video and film assets, including its oral history and digitizing projects.
